COVID-19: Meetings, gatherings in hotels banned in Oman, says Ministry

Ministry also ordered the closure of all public facilities in hotel establishments from 8pm to 4am.

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has banned all meetings, celebrations and gatherings in banquet rooms throughout the day in the wake of rising coronavirus cases in the country.

In a statement issued the Ministry also ordered the closure of all public facilities in hotel establishments from 8pm to 4am except for restaurants, provided that food is “provided through room service during the night lockdown period,” the statement said.

“Ministry bans the operation of meeting rooms, banquet rooms and bans gatherings of any kind throughout the day from its date until further notice,” the statement added.

In the wake of rising coronavirus cases in the country, the Supreme Committee has imposed an indefinite night lockdown including ban on movement of individuals and vehicles, starting from June 20.
