MUSCAT: With coronavirus cases rising in the country, vaccination requirements are fast becoming facts of life.

But will vaccination be made mandatory in Oman? “There is no legal formula for making the vaccine compulsory,” Ministry of Health (MOH) said on Sunday. “Taking the vaccine will be based on the conviction of individuals in the community about the importance of taking the vaccine which will be supported by awareness to promote the sense of responsibility and national duty,” MOH added in the statement.

Oman on Sunday kick-off the mass vaccination drive at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre for those aged 45 and above.
