15,000 job opportunities for Omani citizens in private sector, says Minister

MUSCAT: There are 15,000 job opportunities in the private sector on hourly contracts, Oman’s Minister of Labour said on Thursday.

Speaking in an interview with Oman TV, His Excellency Dr. Mahad bin Said Ba’owain said the government will support in providing OMR 200 as part salary to the private sector in the wake of current crisis.

“There are about 15,000 job opportunities with the private sector on hourly contracts, and the government support in providing part of the salary, i.e. about 200 Omani riyals, which is an additional help to the private sector in light of the current conditions,” the Minister said.

“4,800 people entered the labour market for the first time in the private sector since the beginning of this year, and 4,400 are currently training,” he said.

“The file of job seekers is among the most important issues that the government is working on and is considered a priority. There is continuous communication with government agencies to know their needs of national cadres,” he added.
