MUSCAT: Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a clarification that it has no employees working in its embassy in Yemen.
The statement from MoFA comes after it “observed that a number of citizens were subjected to blackmail via online by people claiming to be Omani diplomats working in the Sultanate’s embassy in Yemen.”
“We would like to clarify to the citizens that the Sultanate has no employees currently working in its embassy in the Republic of Yemen, due to the current circumstances. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would like to advise everyone to be careful not to fall into such electronic blackmail,” the statement added.
