MUSCAT: He did not attend college to study the nuances of running a business but the story of Rashid Al Nuaimi is truly inspirational.
He started his business as a street vendor and is now the owner of a factory in Wilayat Dhank that produces perfumes, soaps, and industrial detergents. Al Nuaimi used to make a monthly profit between OMR 3,000 to OMR 4,500 before the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I prepare the ingredients to make these products after it went through a proper study,” Al Nuaimi said in an interview.

“Olive oil was the main ingredient in the first soap production and this was after a two-year study and the product is suitable for personal use as well,” he explained.
In the beginning Al Nuaimi used to work himself In the factory to produce the products because of his knowledge.
“Before coronavirus, I used to make a monthly profit between OMR 3,000 to OMR 4,500 monthly but during the pandemic, the profit has dropped to OMR 800 to OMR 2,500 per month and it covers the operational and production aspects,” he noted.
Al Nuaimi stressed the importance of Omani frankincense and its natural properties. “These products are rare and it is important to preserve these and promote them as well,” he said.
Speaking about his success, Al Nuaimi said: “It was not easy in the beginning but if you believe in yourself. Hard work and determination are keys to success,” he added.
