MUSCAT: Taking COVID-19 vaccines may become mandatory for entering Oman’s government and educational institutions in the future, a top Ministry of Health official said on Monday.
Speaking in an interview Badr bin Saeed Al Rawahi, Director of the Department of Infectious Diseases Control at MOH said “there is a reluctance in some governorates to take vaccinations due to false information.”
“Taking vaccinations may become a condition for entering educational and governmental institutions in the future,” he pointed out.

Al Rawahi also said 30 percent of the population will get vaccinated by the end of July.
“There is a great demand for vaccinations in the Sultanate, as some governorates have reached 100% of the target group, namely Muscat, Al Dakhiliyah and Al Dhahirah,” he added.
