MUSCAT: Oman’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has amended the period of pre-travel negative COVID-19 PCR test requirements for long international flights.

In a statement issued to all airlines operating in the country, CAA said passengers travelling for long international flights (not less than 8 hours including transit) must conduct their PCR test within 96 hours prior to scheduled time of arrival in Oman. However, the requirement for negative COVID-19 PCR test for shorter flights is remaining to be conducted within 72 hours, CAA informed.

Meanwhile, Omani citizens who are tested positive after recovering from COVID-19 are “allowed to travel to the Sultanate if providing proof that they have completed the prescribed quarantine period before taking the COVID-19 PCR test prior to departure,” CAA added in the circular issued on May 26.
