Government units must submit financial statements via online on time, says Oman’s Ministry of Finance

MUSCAT: Government units must be committed to providing financial statements and their details electronically on time, Ministry of Finance said on Tuesday.

The statement comes as the Ministry held its first meeting to prepare the state budget for the next fiscal year.

“During the meeting, the financial performance indicators that will be used to control the course of spending were reviewed, and the quarterly financial reports were addressed and the monthly liquidity disclosure expected to be disbursed, which will be provided to the Ministry of Finance by government units in order to monitor financial performance, improve spending and address deficits,” a statement from the Ministry said.

“The Director of the State Budget Preparation and Follow-up Department at the Ministry of Finance also stressed the importance of government units’ commitment to providing financial statements and their details electronically on time to facilitate the process of preparing financial estimates for the state’s general budget,” the statement added.
