MUSCAT: The travel suspension for passengers from India is still in effect and there are no immediate plans for the authorities to revoke the decision, The Arabian Stories (TAS) has learnt.

Early this month, due to rise in coronavirus cases, Oman’s Supreme Committee extended the travel ban from India until further notice. Speaking exclusively to TAS, a senior official at Civil Aviation Authority said that decision is still in place. “The Supreme Committee carefully studies before taking any decisions. As of now, there are no immediate plans to lift the travel ban,” he added.

Omani citizens, diplomats, health workers and their families are excluded from the restriction and will be subject to special procedures upon entry. Apart from India as many as 16 countries are in the list including UK, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
