MUSCAT: Oman Investment Authority (OIA) has denied rumours that it has pumped money into budget airline Salam Air.
According to a social media rumour that went viral on social media stated that OIA have requested to inject OMR 45 million into Salam Air due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic crisis. However, late on Friday night, OIA issued a statement rejecting the claims. OIA has also clarified that it has no relationship with Salam Air.
“The Omani Investment Authority was informed of what was circulated on social media about the Authority pumping sums of money into SalamAir, and the agency would like to state that this information is incorrect, and that the OIA has no relationship to the aforementioned company except for indirect shares owned by both ASAAS and Tanmia company.”
