MUSCAT: Oman Air became the first international airline to operate from the newly built Istanbul airport in Turkey.
In a statement issued on Twitter, Oman Air said: “Oman Air creates history once again. We are proud to be the first airline to operate an international flight from the new Istanbul International Airport.”
The last commercial passenger flight took off from Istanbul’s Ataturk airport on Saturday and convoys of trucks ferried thousands of tonnes of equipment across the city to a giant new airport which Turkey plans to make the biggest in the world.
