MUSCAT: Haifa Al Khaifi has been named Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the newly formed Energy Development Oman (EDO). Haifa is also the first woman to hold such position in Oman’s energy sector.
The newly formed board of EDO also include executives from Oman Investment Authority and Petroleum Development Oman. Moutaz Al Riyami will be the Chief Strategy and Commercial Officer, Ibrahim Al Eisri as Chief Financial Officer, and Ibrahim Al Waili as Corporate Planning and Services Officer.
Haifa who is one among the most influential women in the region’s energy sector held the position of Finance Director at PDO. She was also appointed, last September, as Chair of the Board of Directors of State Street Saudi Arabia for Financial Solutions.

EDO which was established by a Royal Decree will achieve a set of government objectives through the implementation of global standards in the management of assets and resources of the state in the oil and gas sector.
