MUSCAT : GCC Secretary-General Dr. Nayef Falah al-Hajraf has said that the GCC summit (Sultan Qaboos and Sheikh Sabah Summit) held at Al-Ula city, Saudi Arabia, formed a springboard that propelled the GCC march into further integration at a time the GCC is entering its fifth decade.
In a statement he issued on Wednesday, Al-Hajraf pointed out that the GCC has set landmark goals that call for the achievement of certain requirements, and that these goals include Joint Customs Action, Common GCC Market and GCC Economic Unity.
Al-Hajraf added that the GCC is now more determined and motivated by its leaders who have pledged to realize their peoples’ aspirations for sustainable security, stability and prosperity.

Al-Hajraf made the statement during his visit to the GCC Statistical Centre today, noting that the GCC is working towards the setting up and enhancement of statistical and institutional database to keep pace with global progress and to portray the GCC as a unified robust economic and social bloc. The GCC Statistical Work Plan (2021-2025) serves as a cornerstone of joint action, he added.
He underscored the Centre’s significance in serving GCC decision-makers.
