MUSCAT: More than 50,000 people have so far registered with the National Subsidy System (NSS) for electricity and water.
According to details 50,300 citizens have registered for the subsidy. This comes after the government issued a decision to lift the subsidies on utility in a phased manner starting from January 1, 2021.

- If the monthly family income is less than OMR 500, regardless of the number of family members.
- If the family income is OMR 750 or less and the number of family members is five or more.
- If the income is OMR 1,000 or less and the number of members is seven or more.
