MUSCAT : Vodafone’s entry as third mobile operator will increase competition and will benefit customers in Oman, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.
The statement from MTCIT comes after His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik on Tuesday issued a Royal Decree granting Class 1 licence to Oman Future Telecommunications Company to provide services in the country.
“This step will contribute to increasing the competition between telecommunications companies in the Sultanate for the benefit of the user of these services, and will support the communications and information technology sector and enhance the role of the digital economy in the Sultanate,” the ministry said in a statement.
