MUSCAT: The condition of the resident who has been diagnosed with the new mutant strain of the coronavirus is stable, Ministry of Health confirmed.
Oman on Tuesday registered the first case of mutant strain of COVID-19 in a resident who arrived from UK. However, “he is in good health and is subject to domestic isolation,” MOH said in a statement.
According to MOH, the patient developed respiratory symptoms while undergoing health isolation. ”The COVID-19 tests that he had taken before arrival and upon arrival in the Sultanate were negative. All public health measures have been applied to deal with the infected person who is in good health now and is subject to domestic isolation,” MOH informed.

The Ministry of Health has called on citizens and residents to abide by the decisions of the Supreme Committee regarding “traveling outside the country except cases of extreme necessity,” the statement from MOH added.
