MUSCAT: The New Year brought with it some new faces as Muscat welcomed the first two babies born in 2021 from Muscat Governorate.

United Nations Children’s Education Fund (UNICEF)’s Oman office shared the pictures of two babies born in Khoula Hospital on January 1.
According to UNICEF, around 251 babies were born on January 1, 2021. “Not only is it a new year, 2021 brings with it new opportunities and a new chance to put children first. At Kahwla Hospital in Oman, these babies were welcomed with open arms as the 1st newborns in the Sultanate,” the statement from UNICEF said.
