MUSCAT : Nearly 5,000 public sector employees retired at the end of November 2020.
According to the Civil Service Employees Pension Fund (CSEPF), the total employees retired stood at 4,983 of which 67% are men and 33% are women.
The statistics indicated that the average age of retirees was 53 years, while the average length of service was 29 years, and the average pension was OMR 989.

According to CSEPF, the government spends a total monthly amount of OMR 34 million for 78,628 pensioners.
Meanwhile the total pensioners at the end of November 2020 reached 167,566 (53% men males and 47% women).
