MUSCAT : Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate, recently inaugurated 3 football fields as part of its Green Sports programme to teams in Al Dakhiliyah governorate. In line with the bank’s commitment to community development and promoting Oman as a sporting nation, the official opening of the Al Najd Team’s Green Sports Field in the Wilayat of Samail. The event was held in the presence of Humood Salim Al Hashami, Team Manager, and Hamdan Humood Al Bimani, Regional Manager – Dakhiliyah South, Bank Muscat.

Bank Muscat is continuing to hand over more Green Sports fields to teams across the country as part of its efforts to support Omani youth and local communities. The Al Rasheed Team’s stadium in the Wilayat of Samail was inaugurated in the presence of Sami Saud Al Jabri, Team Manager, and bank officials. Another field was handed over recently to the Al Husn Sports Team at an event attended by Humood Bakhit Al Attabi, Team Manager, and Abdullah Said Al Roshdi, Regional Manager – Dakhiliyah North, Bank Muscat. The bank’s representatives handed over project completion certificates to the respective teams at the events, which were organised in full compliance with social distancing norms. 

Hamdan Humood Al Bimani, Regional Manager – Dakhiliyah South, Bank Muscat congratulated the teams for their excellent partnership in successfully completing the respective fields. The Green Sports programme has been a flagship of the bank’s CSR programmes are playing an excellent role in enhancing the capabilities of team members. There is no doubt that it has been greatly contributing to further build Omani sporting talent. He added that the programme provided an excellent means to channelise the energy and talents of the youth in a productive way, besides helping local communities develop stronger bonds and a greater spirit of cooperation. It must be noted that the facilities provided under the programme are used not only by the teams, but also by the local communities that they are based in.  There is no doubt that it is contributing to the emergence of more Omani talent in football and also has a positive impact on the environment. Importantly, it is building a pipeline of talented players who can represent the country at all levels in the future. 

It is worth noting that the number of Green Sports fields that Bank Muscat has officially inaugurated is 96 playgrounds so far distributed in the various governorates, and the number of sports teams benefiting from the program until this year reached 123 teams across different governorates since the launch of the programme in 2012. Recently, the bank announced that applications for the 2021 edition of Green Sports programme will be accepted till 6 January 2021. All teams applying for Green Sports support should note that applications will be accepted only online. The registration process is user-friendly and can be easily completed using a computer, a mobile phone or even a tablet. To apply, teams should go to https://www.bankmuscat.com/greensports/ and submit the application form and all supporting documents before 6 January 2021.
