MUSCAT: Oman’s economy is projected to sharply contract by 4% this year, according to Minister of Economy.

His Excellency Dr. Said Al Saqri, speaking in an interview with Oman TV said amid the coronavirus pandemic, the economy is expected to contract very sharply. “Maintaining the stability of the national economy is one of the most prominent challenges, and there is an expectation of a 4% contraction in the national economy,” he said.

“And to return to the level of 2019 (before the pandemic) will require several years,” he added.
