Freight movement remains unaffected despite border closure in Oman

MUSCAT : Freight movement to and from the Sultanate has not been affected despite the country closing its borders, Oman Post has confirmed.

The Supreme Committee on Tuesday closed the borders (land, air and sea) in the wake of a fast spreading new variant of Covid-19 in UK but has exempted cargo flights, trucks and ships.

In a statement issued Oman Post said its operations are unaffected despite closure of borders. “In line with the decision of the Supreme Committee in charge of combating the spread of the new coronavirus variant, please be advised that the movement of freight remains uninterrupted locally and internationally to and from Oman,” the statement from Oman Post said.

“The health and safety of our teams, customers and community is our top priority. We are committed to the precautionary measures of our customers availing of our services, in order to safeguard the community,” the statement added
