Man jailed, driving licence suspended for drug offences and violating movement ban in Oman

MUSCAT : A Court of First Instance in Seeb sentenced an Omani citizen to 10 months in jail and a fine of OMR 700 for violating the recent movement ban. The court also suspended his driving licence for a year.

In a statement issued by the Public Prosecution said the man damaged the wall of a house after he hit his vehicle under the influence of drugs. He was soon arrested by the Royal Oman Police.

“The Court of First Instance in Seeb has convicted a citizen for violating the movement ban and driving his vehicle under the influence of drug and damaging property. The court ruled to punish the accused with 10 months imprisonment and a fine of OMR 700  and suspended his licence for a year after carrying out the prison sentence,” Public Prosecution said in a statement.
