MUSCAT: As the government is trying to contain the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak, a top official at the Ministry of Health has reminded the public that gatherings are still banned in the country.
Speaking to The Arabian Stories, a senior MOH official said: “As people celebrate the 50th National Day holidays, we would like to remind them that the ban on gatherings of all types are still in place. It’s the responsibility of each one of you to take care of your health and of your families. Avoid crowded places and wear masks at all times when you go out.”
The health authorities are working hard to control the spike in cases as the Sultanate has been reporting less number of Covid-19 infections over the last few weeks. “The last few weeks we have seen the numbers drop below 500 daily and we do not want to see an increase. During holidays the cases surge and we don’t want that to happen this time too. So we urge people to abide by the precautionary measures,” he added.
