MUSCAT: More than 7,000 expatriates with expired work permits have applied to exit the country in the last five days, Ministry of Labour said on Saturday.
A total of 7,689 requests were received by the Ministry to process departures between November 15-19.
“Departure requests were also registered based on the method of entry into the Sultanate. 7,289 expatriates possessed a work visa, 93 expatriates possessed a family joining visa, 87 expatriates possessed a relative joining visa, 147 of them had a visit visa, 12 had a tourist visa and 61 were without documents,” the statement from Ministry said.
