Born into one of the first few industrious families in the Sultanate, stepping into the world of trade was not difficult for him, however, what sets him apart is his razor-sharp mind and business acumen. Though young, he is unafraid to set new goals and test the boundaries of traditional business while keeping constant the traditions of yesteryear.

Mohsin Hani Al Bahrani epitomises the youth of Oman contributing handsomely to the prolific growth of the nation. As the eldest grandson of the late Mohsin Haider Darwish, Mohsin carries the torch of trade with great fervour.

A Business Management graduate from Brunel University London and a Master’s degree-holder from King’s College London, Mohsin serves as the CEO of the Automotive, Construction Equipment and Renewable Energy (ACERE) unit of Mohsin Haider Darwish LLC (MHD). He combines business resilience with accelerated growth and innovation while keeping the company’s core beliefs intact.

By forging innovative partnerships, his foray into business was marked by regaining the market leadership for commercial vehicles with Ashok Leyland in Oman and repositioning the MG brand. Mohsin also bagged the McLaren name and has been actively burgeoning the group portfolio ever since.

He has overseen the expansion of the sales and aftersales network for ACERE. Under his guidance, the sales facilities have expanded from four units in 2019 to over 10 in 2020. This has led to not only an in-country value for the Sultanate but also created auxiliary traction within the industry for the conglomerate.

The augmentation of sales facilities has also paved the way for the Omani workforce to realise their full potential and contribute to the growth of the country as they are given further opportunities to enhance their knowledge and technical skills.

Today, as the industry enters a new phase, the company and its leadership still have one eye firmly on the future – a sustainable outlook.

Mohsin has played a pivotal role in ensuring the transition of the private sector to sustainable energy solutions to tackle the threat of climate change. With the advent of the Renewable Energy and Electric Vehicles Division, the first of its kind in the nation, Mohsin remains keen on driving technological innovation with dependence on clean energy while also upgrading skills as the working world sees momentous change.

His philosophy is drawn from the company vision. “The vision shows you where your company is headed, and you cannot lead without one.

“To be a leader, you need to decide which principles remain constant and which situations allow for realistic and practical changes. Both these are connected by integrity and purpose. We will continue to keep pace with global advancement while bringing forth sustainable solutions for our existing and potential customers.”
