Pankaj Khimji, Director of Khimji Ramdas, heads one of the largest business conglomerates in Oman.
Khimji Ramdas is a trusted name in the business world, and its interests are spread across from shipping services, logistics, building and construction-related services and supplies, defence products and services to lifestyle products, luxury retail and IT services.
A highly experienced businessman, Pankaj is endowed with a keen focus that aided him to leverage the immense business potential of Oman. His continuous hard work has contributed to the benefit of Omani society.
With extensive exposure in diverse public and private responsibilities at advisory level, Pankaj has guided Khimji Ramdas towards achieving sustainable growth by overcoming global business challenges.
Graduating as a building construction engineer from the West London College, UK, Pankaj took up the reins of his century-old family business.
During a year’s break from the university, he interned with the Royal Oman Police at the Projects and Maintenance Department and later, after joining his family business, at the Procter & Gamble UK.
Pankaj is Co-Chairman of the Oman-India Joint Business Council and a board member of the Omani-British Friendship Association.
He has been an active member of the World Economic Forum as well as a recipient of the Global Leader of Tomorrow award.
For the past 14 years Pankaj Khimji has been a regular member of the Ministry of Manpower’s delegation to the Annual International Labour Organisation Conference in Geneva.
Pankaj is also an active supporter of innovative initiatives to train Omani youth with the requisite skills to set up their own businesses. One such enterprise that he was very closely involved in was the Sanad services which paved the way for fostering entrepreneurial culture in the country.
Moreover, he is involved in the Oman Business Forum which focuses on the key areas that can contribute to the development of the country such as educating youth, training leaders, and other work aimed at transforming and empowering society.
He is a board member of Sharakah – one of the pioneering SME funding and mentoring organisations in the Sultanate. Besides, he has served in various roles such as a working group member of Oman’s Logistic Strategy 2040; a committee member of Tanfeedh, the national programme for enhancing economic diversification; Director in the Fund for Development of Youth Projects; founding Director of Muscat University; and advisory board member at the College of Economics and Political Science, Sultan Qaboos University.
A passionate cricket fan, Pankaj also devotes his time to the board of Oman Cricket and is an executive board member of the Asian Cricket Council.
