Muscat:  The India–Oman AYUSH Information Cell was formally inaugurated today at KIMS Health Hospital, Darsait, by H.E. Shri Prashant Pise, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman, in the presence of  Dr. Amir Mustafa, Regional Chief Operating Officer (COO), KIMS Health Oman, and the Indian Community and Omani friends of India.

  The India-Oman AYUSH Information Cell is a joint initiative by the Embassy of India, Muscat, and KIMS Health Medical Center, under the auspices of the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. The agreement was formalised on the eve of Hon’ble PM’s visit to Sultanate of Oman in December 2025. It aims to serve as a dedicated information hub providing authentic information on India’s traditional systems of medicine and holistic wellness. The inauguration of the cell commenced with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting, followed by an unveiling of the inaugural plaque.

Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Prashant Pise highlighted the significance of the initiative in strengthening India-Oman ties and promoting awareness of traditional systems of medicine. He stated that the AYUSH Information Cell stands as a testament to the deep-rooted India-Oman friendship and our shared commitment to holistic health. He expressed that the AYUSH systems – Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy – represent India’s 5,000-year-old wisdom for preventive healthcare and well-being, emphasising that this Information Cell will make authentic information accessible to residents in Oman.

  In his welcome address, Dr. Amir Mustafa, Regional COO, KIMS Health Oman, expressed the institution’s commitment to the initiative, stating how KIMS Health is proud to partner with the Embassy of India to bring authentic AYUSH information to the people of Oman. He acknowledged that this collaboration aligns with the hospital’s vision of integrative healthcare, combining modern medicine with traditional wellness for better patient outcomes.

  The event was attended by over 50 dignitaries, doctors, community leaders and media representatives, reflecting the growing interest in traditional systems of medicine and holistic approaches to well-being.

  AYUSH encompasses Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy, the traditional and complementary systems of medicine practised in India and promoted internationally by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. The establishment of the Information Cell represents an important step towards facilitating access to reliable information about these systems and fostering greater awareness of India’s traditional healthcare knowledge in Oman.The cell will help organise lectures,conduct seminars , training courses and facilitate networking with AYUSH stakeholders.
