MUSCAT : Indian crew members injured in an attack on the commercial vessel MT On Peace are recovering well in hospitals in Oman, the Indian embassy in Muscat said on Friday, thanking Omani authorities for their assistance.
The injured seafarers are receiving treatment in Khasab, Sohar and Muscat, the embassy said in a statement on X.
“We deeply appreciate the timely assistance of Omani authorities in evacuating and providing medical treatment to injured Indian crew members,” it said.

The embassy said it remained in close contact with the seafarers’ families, shipping companies, hospitals and Omani authorities to monitor their recovery.
The Panama-flagged vessel was struck by a projectile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz off Oman’s coast on Tuesday, according to India’s Ministry of External Affairs. Twelve crew members were injured, including 11 Indians. The vessel carried 19 crew members, 17 of them Indian nationals.
Omani authorities helped evacuate the injured crew, who were initially taken to Khasab for treatment.
India condemned the attack and called for an immediate halt to attacks on commercial shipping, seafarers and civilian infrastructure, urging the restoration of safe navigation and commerce through international waterways.
