ASTANA : His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik concluded a two-day state visit to Kazakhstan on Tuesday, during which the two countries agreed to establish a US$150 million joint investment fund and signed agreements covering energy, tourism and mineral exploration.
His Majesty held talks with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the Palace of Independence in Astana, calling for a sustainable strategic partnership that delivers tangible economic and institutional results.
The agreements included plans for solar and wind projects with a combined capacity of around 2 gigawatts, a Rixos resort at Blue City in Oman and an Oman–Kazakhstan centre for artificial intelligence in mineral exploration.

His Majesty also highlighted opportunities for cooperation in financial services, transport and logistics, including expertise exchanges through the International Financial Centre of Oman and trade corridors through Omani ports.
During the visit, Tokayev conferred the Order of the Golden Eagle, Kazakhstan’s highest state honour, on His Majesty in recognition of his support for strengthening ties between the two countries.
