ASTANA : Oman and Kazakhstan signed an agreement to establish a joint investment fund alongside deals covering energy, mining and tourism on Tuesday, Oman News Agency reported.
The signing ceremony included an implementation agreement for the joint investment fund and two cooperation agreements between OQ and Kazakhstan’s national oil and gas company, KazMunayGas, to explore investment opportunities in oil and gas exploration and production.
OQ Green and Samruk-Energy signed a strategic cooperation agreement to develop renewable energy in Kazakhstan and international markets.

The agreements also included a memorandum of cooperation to establish an Omani-Kazakh centre for mineral exploration.
A memorandum of terms was signed for a Rixos hotel project in Oman’s Grand Blue City. The announcement did not disclose investment values or project timelines.
The signings took place during His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s state visit to Kazakhstan.
