Muscat: Oman’s economy grew 5.1% in the second quarter of 2026 compared with a year earlier, driven by a sharp expansion in oil activities, preliminary official data showed on Sunday.
Gross domestic product at constant prices reached about RO 9.9 billion, up from approximately RO 9.4 billion in the same quarter of 2025, the Oman News Agency reported, citing the National Centre for Statistics and Information.
Oil activities grew 14.7% to around RO 3.4 billion, compared with about RO 3 billion a year earlier.

Non-oil activities expanded 0.7%, reaching approximately RO 7 billion, against about RO 6.8 billion in the corresponding quarter of 2025, according to the data.
Agriculture and fishing grew 2.3% to RO 325 million, up from RO 317.8 million a year earlier.
Industrial activities contracted 1.5% to approximately RO 1.9 billion, compared with about RO 2 billion in the second quarter of 2025.
Services expanded 1.5% to around RO 4.6 billion, up from approximately RO 4.5 billion a year earlier.
