MUSCAT: The Fund said registration is required for all students, including those already receiving the monthly allowance, as part of efforts to update beneficiary data and verify continued eligibility under the approved criteria.

Registration also applies to new students whose details are available through their educational institutions. Eligible students will be included in the allowance disbursement process after the required verification procedures are completed.

The Fund stressed that receiving the allowance during previous periods does not exempt current students from registration, describing the process as an essential step to update personal and educational information and confirm continued eligibility.

The electronic registration process links students’ personal, educational and bank account information within an integrated system, helping improve the accuracy of eligibility assessments and disbursements while reducing administrative procedures for beneficiaries.

The Fund said the project is being implemented in coordination with the Ministry of Education, the National Records Centre of the Royal Oman Police and other relevant authorities. Electronic data-sharing mechanisms are being used to verify information required to determine eligibility.

Students can complete the registration process electronically without visiting the Fund’s offices, allowing them to submit their applications remotely at a convenient time.

Eligibility for the monthly allowance is determined according to approved criteria that take into account the family’s social and economic circumstances, as well as the distance between the student’s residence and educational institution.

The electronic system enables student information to be verified against the eligibility requirements, with the aim of providing clearer and more consistent procedures for determining entitlement.

The Fund said the monthly allowance programme forms part of efforts to integrate social protection with education and support students in continuing their studies by helping reduce some of the financial burdens associated with higher education.

The Fund urged all current and new domestic scholarship students to complete the electronic registration process, ensure that their personal and educational information is accurate, link their phone number to their civil ID number, and maintain an active bank account to complete the application.
