MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has approved the establishment of a new national programme aimed at strengthening Oman’s foreign investment environment, with the initiative set to be launched at the beginning of 2027.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the Council of Ministers chaired by His Majesty at Al Hosn Palace in Salalah.
The Cabinet approved the National Programme to Enhance the Foreign Investment Environment after reviewing the performance and evaluation of a number of national programmes and their contribution to developing various sectors, strengthening institutional integration and improving the competitiveness of the business environment.

The programme will be launched at the start of 2027 as a national enabling initiative aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of Oman’s business environment and attracting both domestic and foreign investment.
It will also focus on reviewing and improving services provided to investors, citizens and residents during the next phase.
The move comes as Oman continues efforts to strengthen its investment climate, improve the ease of doing business and create a more competitive environment for local and international investors.
