MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik presided over a meeting of the Council of Ministers on Tuesday, reviewing domestic developments and the preliminary results expected for Oman’s 2026 state budget, according to Oman TV.
The Cabinet stressed the importance of strengthening fiscal policies and improving their ability to adapt to external developments and fluctuations, with the aim of protecting the country’s economic and financial position from unforeseen changes and supporting sustainable economic and fiscal stability.
The discussion comes as Oman continues to pursue policies aimed at maintaining fiscal resilience while managing the impact of shifts in the regional and global economic environment.

His Majesty also reviewed developments in the healthcare sector, with the Council examining a report on major health projects completed during the recent period as well as projects scheduled for completion in the coming period.
The review covered initiatives aimed at strengthening Oman’s healthcare system and expanding its capacity and services across the country.
The Cabinet was also briefed on key projects in the medical industries sector, including existing developments and projects currently under implementation.
The discussions reflected the government’s focus on expanding healthcare infrastructure alongside the development of medical industries as part of efforts to strengthen the wider health ecosystem in Oman.
