MUSCAT : Oman’s Ministry of Labour recorded 2,957 individual labour complaints during the first half of 2026, according to official data highlighting efforts to settle workplace disputes and protect labour rights across the Sultanate.
The ministry also handled 2,908 collective labour complaints during the six-month period, reflecting the scale of labour-related cases addressed through its labour welfare and dispute settlement mechanisms.
According to the data, 106 collective bargaining cases were recorded, alongside five cases involving strikes and labour gatherings.

The ministry said 1,093 job opportunities were provided through labour care operations during the first half of the year.
Labour awareness initiatives also formed a significant part of the ministry’s activities, with 6,335 recorded during the period as authorities sought to strengthen awareness of workplace rights and responsibilities.
Eight new trade unions were registered during the first half of 2026, the figures showed.
