MUSCAT : Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) has concluded its participation in Oman Climate Week 2026, having organized a series of panel discussions and specialized workshops highlighting the role of capital markets in advancing sustainability, mobilizing climate finance, and promoting environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. These initiatives reflect the importance of capital markets in supporting the transition towards a more sustainable and low-carbon economy.

A key highlight of MSX’s participation was the launch of the Green Branch Award, in partnership with the Environment Authority. The initiative aims to unify national sustainability efforts under a common framework, encourage institutions to adopt leading environmental practices, and promote institutional excellence in ways that generate lasting national impact.

MSX also hosted a panel discussion titled “Connecting Innovation, Industry and Climate Impact,” featuring a distinguished group of leaders and experts from Oman Cables Industry. The session highlighted the company’s sustainability, innovation, and climate action initiatives, while exploring the role of innovation in advancing more sustainable industrial practices.

As part of the discussions on climate finance, Alina Aldambergen, Chief Business Development Officer at MSX, participated in the panel titled “Climate Finance: Mobilizing Climate Finance for a Resilient and Low-Carbon Future.” The discussion explored the role of capital markets, financial institutions, and the private sector in directing investments towards sustainable projects, developing innovative financing mechanisms to support climate action, and fostering sustainable growth and economic resilience.

MSX hosted a specialized session titled “Building a Carbon Market Ecosystem: The Journey and Experience of the Saudi Voluntary Carbon Market Company (VCM).” The session presented the company’s practical experience in developing and activating a carbon market ecosystem, highlighting key steps and practices involved in establishing carbon markets and their role in supporting climate action.

The MSX Corner also hosted Crowe Oman for a specialized workshop on the ESG Report, which examined the key findings of the report prepared in collaboration with MSX. The workshop also explored insights into environmental, social, and governance practices and emerging trends, emphasizing their importance in enhancing transparency and embedding sustainable institutional practices.

MSX’s participation in Oman Climate Week 2026 reflects its ongoing commitment to advancing the role of Oman’s capital market in supporting sustainability and climate action. Through knowledge-sharing and engagement with key stakeholders, the Exchange seeks to contribute to meaningful dialogue, strengthen the exchange of expertise, and highlight the opportunities capital markets offer in mobilizing investment and providing financing solutions for sustainable projects. These efforts support the Sultanate of Oman’s continued transition towards a more resilient and sustainable economy.
