Muscat: The agreements mark a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations between Oman and Botswana and expanding cooperation across a wide range of strategic sectors.
The Memoranda of Understanding cover general cooperation and political consultations, as well as the abolition of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and special passports.
The two countries also signed agreements related to air services and investment promotion, aimed at supporting greater connectivity and economic engagement.

Cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector forms another key part of the agreements, with Oman and Botswana establishing a partnership focused on pharmaceutical security, regulatory cooperation, pharmaceutical supply and investment.
The agreements further include the joint development of a basic terms document for cooperation in mining exploration, energy security and regional energy development.
A separate Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Business Botswana, the organisation representing the country’s chamber of commerce, federation of employers’ organisations and wider business community.
The agreements were signed within the framework of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s visit to Botswana.
