GABORONE : His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Botswana President Duma Boko held talks in Gaborone on Wednesday, discussing ways to deepen bilateral relations and expand economic cooperation between the two countries.

His Majesty the Sultan and President Boko first held a bilateral meeting at the presidential headquarters, during which they reaffirmed the close relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Botswana and stressed the importance of further developing them to serve shared interests and deliver greater benefits for their peoples, according to the Oman News Agency.

The two leaders later chaired an expanded session of official talks, with delegations from both countries taking part.

The discussions focused on existing areas of cooperation and opportunities to strengthen ties, particularly in renewable energy, mining, investment, logistics, food security and agriculture.
