MUSCAT : Work on the new Samail Hospital is progressing rapidly, with the project now 90 percent complete as Oman moves closer to opening a major new healthcare facility in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.
Final finishing works and the installation and preparation of hospital departments are currently under way, Oman TV reported.
The project is expected to be completed and enter trial operations by the end of this year, when the hospital will begin receiving patients on a trial basis.

The new hospital will initially have a capacity of 170 beds, with provisions for future expansion to 300 beds.
Once operational, the facility is expected to ease pressure on Nizwa Reference Hospital by providing additional healthcare capacity within Al Dakhiliyah and reducing the number of cases that need to be referred to hospitals in other governorates.
