Muscat Municipality outlines safety and hygiene guidelines for salons

Muscat Municipality has urged residents to take precautions when using beauty salon services, stressing the importance of choosing licensed salons, properly sterilised tools and safe cosmetic products to reduce potential health risks.

MUSCAT: The municipality advised customers to ensure that salons are licensed and that staff follow appropriate hygiene practices, including wearing designated work uniforms.

Customers should also check that salon tools are clean and thoroughly sterilised, while single-use items must not be reused. The municipality further advised ensuring that cosmetic products are kept in their original containers.

The guidelines also call on customers to pay attention to the overall cleanliness of the salon, the condition and quality of equipment, and the effectiveness of sterilisation devices used by the establishment.

Muscat Municipality stressed that beauty services and cosmetic products should be safe and should not expose customers to harmful or adverse health effects.
