Muscat: The exchange rate index of the Omani riyal increased by 4.5 percent to 118.3 points at the end of June 2026, compared with 113.2 points during the same period in 2025.
NCSI data showed that total domestic liquidity reached RO 29.3288 billion, up from RO 25.4107 billion at the end of June last year.
Money supply in its narrow sense recorded an even stronger increase of 29.8 percent, rising to RO 9.4105 billion from RO 7.2522 billion a year earlier.

Meanwhile, total currency issued increased by 4.6 percent to RO 1.6264 billion, compared with RO 1.5552 billion at the end of June 2025.
Foreign assets also registered growth, increasing by 2.7 percent to RO 7.4965 billion from RO 7.3029 billion during the corresponding period last year.
Private-sector deposits with commercial banks and Islamic windows rose by 11.8 percent to RO 24.4966 billion, compared with RO 21.9164 billion at the end of June 2025.
At the same time, total loans and financing extended by commercial banks and Islamic windows increased by 12.3 percent to RO 38.2472 billion, up from RO 34.0695 billion during the same period last year.
In contrast, the average interest rate on total loans declined by 3 percent, reaching 5.325 percent at the end of June 2026, compared with 5.487 percent in June 2025.
