MUSCAT: Silambu Kasinathan, Divisional Director at Techtas Engineering Consultancy, has been honoured with the Excellence in Engineering Leadership Award at the 5th TAS Oman Business Awards, recognising a distinguished professional journey spanning more than 40 years in the Sultanate.
The prestigious award was presented during the TAS Oman Business Awards ceremony at IntercityHotel Muscat, celebrating Kasinathan’s contribution to Oman’s engineering sector, technical leadership and role in developing generations of industry professionals.
Kasinathan played a pivotal role in establishing Techtas operations in Oman and has since been involved in major projects across some of the Sultanate’s most important economic sectors, including oil and gas, petrochemicals, fertilisers, power and infrastructure.

Over four decades, his career has been marked by the delivery of complex engineering projects as well as a sustained focus on technical excellence, professional standards and leadership.
Beyond project delivery, Kasinathan has also played an important role in mentoring and developing professionals, sharing his experience and technical expertise with younger generations entering the engineering industry.
His recognition at the TAS Oman Business Awards comes as he marks more than 40 years of professional service in Oman, a milestone reflecting a career closely connected with the development of the Sultanate’s industrial and engineering landscape.
The Excellence in Engineering Leadership Award recognises his longstanding contribution to the profession and a leadership journey built around engineering expertise, integrity and commitment.
The fifth TAS Oman Business Awards, organised by The Arabian Stories, honoured 25 businesses, entrepreneurs, leaders and achievers for excellence and impact across Oman’s business and professional landscape.
The ceremony was held under the patronage of HE Khalid bin Hilal Al Maawali, Chairman of the Majlis Al Shura, and brought together senior executives, entrepreneurs and representatives from across the Sultanate’s business community.
