SALALAH: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received Rwandan President Paul Kagame at Al Hosn Palace in Salalah on Monday, as the Rwandan leader began a two-day official visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
An official reception ceremony was held in honour of President Kagame upon his arrival at the palace, according to the Oman News Agency.
As the presidential motorcade reached the grounds of Al Hosn Palace, a formation of the Royal Cavalry lined the route before His Majesty accompanied President Kagame to the dais of honour.

The Royal Guard of Oman military band played the Rwandan national anthem, while an artillery unit fired a 21-gun salute in honour of the visiting president.
Kagame had arrived earlier on Monday at the Royal Airport in Salalah with his accompanying delegation, where he was received by His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar.
The visit comes as Oman and Rwanda seek to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation across areas of mutual interest.
