Oman to grant visa exemptions to citizens of 100 countries

MUSCAT :As part of strengthening the tourism sector, Oman will exempt citizens of 100 countries from the requirement to obtain a visa to enter the country, according to a data released by the Ministry of Finance shows.

According to the data issued as part of Oman’s mid-term fiscal plan 2020-2024 (Tawazon Program), the new initiative will stimulate the economy and the tourism sector. However, the date of implementation is not yet revealed.

Sources have confirmed that the authorities will soon announce the list of countries that will be exempted.

“In the context of supporting tourism and attracting foreign tourists to visit the Sultanate, citizens of more than 100 countries will be exempted from the visa requirement. This would strengthen the tourism sector and raise its contribution to the national economy,” the statement from the report read.
