MUSCAT: The requirement was issued by the ministry’s Directorate General of Maritime Affairs, which maintains an approved list of physicians authorised to conduct medical fitness examinations for seafarers.
The approved physicians are located in several governorates, including Muscat, Sohar, Duqm, Sur, Salalah and Al Musannah, with the official list providing their contact details and addresses.
The ministry stressed that medical reports or fitness certificates issued by doctors or medical practitioners who are not included on the Directorate General of Maritime Affairs’ approved list will not be considered valid.
