PORT VILA: The earthquake’s epicentre was located 56 kilometres northeast of Port Olry Village on Espiritu Santo Island, at a depth of 188 kilometres, the USGS reported.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or material damage following the earthquake.
The Vanuatu Department of Natural Disasters had not issued a tsunami warning in connection with the tremor at the time of reporting.
