Dhofar’s Khareef visitors reach 472,449 by end of July, up 6.9%

The number of visitors to Dhofar during the 2026 kharif season reached 472,449 by the end of July, marking a 6.9 percent increase compared with the same period last year, according to data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

MUSCAT : The figure covers the period from June 21 to July 31, 2026, compared with 442,100 visitors recorded during the corresponding period in 2025.

Omani visitors accounted for the largest share, with 360,531 visitors, or 76.3 percent of the total. This was up from 334,399 Omani visitors during the same period last year.

Visitors from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries ranked second, accounting for 16.6 percent, with 78,356 visitors compared with 69,801 in 2025.



Visitors from other nationalities numbered 33,562, representing 7.1 percent of the total, down from 37,900 during the corresponding period in 2025.

The NCSI data showed that the number of visitors arriving in Dhofar by air increased by 9.6 percent, reaching 117,551 compared with 107,254 during the same period last year.

Visitors arriving through land border crossings also increased, reaching 354,898, compared with 334,846 in 2025, representing a 5.9 percent rise.

July accounted for the overwhelming majority of visitors during the period covered by the preliminary estimates.

A total of 451,355 visitors arrived in Dhofar between July 1 and July 31, accounting for 95.5 percent of the total. This compares with 421,506 visitors during July 2025.

During the opening days of the season, from June 21 to June 30, Dhofar recorded 21,094 visitors, compared with 20,594 during the same period last year.
