MUSCAT – The municipality said the disruption coincided with high temperatures and affected green spaces and tree-planting works at several locations across Sohar.
An emergency plan was activated immediately after the malfunction, with the municipality arranging water tankers to support irrigation in affected areas and limit the impact on vegetation.
In coordination with Nama Water Services Company, the technical fault has now been repaired, according to the municipality. Pumping water to the main reservoirs is scheduled to begin today, paving the way for the irrigation network to resume normal operations.
The municipality said it would intensify irrigation efforts in the coming period and closely monitor affected sites.
It will also take the necessary measures to rehabilitate damaged areas and restore their aesthetic appearance.
