MUSCAT : According to the Civil Aviation Authority’s weather forecast, skies will remain partly cloudy to cloudy over the Dhofar coast and mountain areas, with intermittent drizzle and the possibility of isolated rainfall over the Dhofar desert and surrounding highlands.
The CAA said medium and high cloud cover is expected across most governorates, creating favourable conditions for convective cloud development. Isolated rainfall and occasional thunderstorms are forecast over parts of the Al Hajar Mountains during the afternoon, accompanied by fresh winds and a possibility of hail. The unstable weather may extend to nearby desert areas by the evening.
Weather conditions are also expected to bring low clouds from late night into the early morning over South Al Sharqiyah and Al Wusta governorates, as well as parts of the Oman Sea coastline.

Meanwhile, the authority warned of dust being raised over desert and open areas, which could reduce horizontal visibility. It also issued alerts for reduced visibility caused by fog formation and rainfall, along with the risk of strong downdraft winds associated with thunderstorm activity.
The latest radar image at 8:52 am showed intermittent rainfall continuing over parts of North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, indicating that wet weather remains active in the region.
