MUSCAT: The selection marks an international recognition of Oman’s achievements in road safety and traffic management, with the country becoming the sole Asian representative at the annual gathering, which is primarily attended by African nations. The 2027 edition will also include an official representative from the European Union, broadening the forum’s international participation.
According to the Royal Oman Police, the selection reflects the Sultanate’s sustained efforts to enhance road safety through enforcement, awareness initiatives and the adoption of international best practices aimed at reducing road traffic accidents and improving public safety.
